Cats and people have been linked for generations and were probably introduced into the UK by the Romans, despite there being a wild cat in Scotland. They are the most graceful of human companions and also the most independent. The cat will only do what the cat wants to do, despite its owners best endeavours to get them to 'perform on command'. We don't own our cat - she owns us! Essentially there are two main classes of cat; the long hair and the short hair. Within each class there are many breeds, each with their own show standard and of course, new varieties are appearing continuously. |
